I’ve been in the administration and management fields for over 20 years; and for most of those 20 years I knew I wanted and needed something more. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs I always had an eye on the future and the possibilities of owning my own business, but I knew my dreams of being my own boss would not be fulfilled until I found my niche. In 2001 I came across AssistU.com, after some very thorough research I dove in and began the intense 20 week course. And in 2002 I launched Kathy McHenry-Your Virtual Advantage.
One of my favorite parts of being a Virtual Assistant is working with different clients on different projects—my days are never boring! My services are customized to meet your needs. Whether you need an administrative manager, business manager, or want to integrate my services into your own business; I’ve got you covered.
As a small business owner myself, I know the day-to-day challenges of maintaining your business and balancing it with your life. My approach to my client’s projects is from a business owner’s point of view, not an assistant’s.I prefer to get to know my clients and in doing so my clients get to know me. Here are a few personal things about me–in no particular order.
I’m located in Virginia after being born and raised in North Dakota. I love the east coast; we are 50 miles south of DC and couldn’t be happier.I’m married with two daughters and one granddaughter. My three girls are the most important things to me. I would do anything for them.
I love cooking, and eating of course. I started a cooking club here about four years ago as a way to make friends. I’m also part of a fine dining club that meets quarterly at a nice restaurant for a meal prepared especially for us. It’s all good!
I’m a glass half-full kind of gal… “Do you have to find something good in everything? Can’t you just let me be mad?” I won’t tell on the person who said that to me.
I’m an organizer and a planner. But I’m pretty good on the fly too.
I hate all pictures of me, even that one on the top of this page.
I don’t mind that I’m getting older, I just don’t like that I’m looking older. I’m still feeling young though!
I need my sleep, healthy food, a quiet house and I’m happy as a clam.
